The Pilates Professional Advanced Teacher Training teaches you not only the connection between each exercise but the application of the Pilates Method. It trains you on what to look at and what apparatus to use to build your client's workout and balance their bodies. It is not only the how but the why, when, and where of the Red Thread® Method of Pilates.

As a teacher, you will no longer view Pilates as a list of exercises, but as a complex method that can be simplified by understanding the thread that weaves between each exercise.

The PPATT program is for formally trained, comprehensively certified teachers (training must include a minimum of 450 hours and cover all pieces of major apparatus, including but not limited to: Reformer, Cadillac, Barrels, Mat, and 3 Chairs). Teachers will know how to safely use Pilates apparatus produced in the style of Pilates Designs, Gratz and/or Contrology. Teachers must have been actively teaching Pilates for a minimum of five years.

Each PPATT group is composed of individual teachers selected for optimal learning potential. The group members are chosen according to personality, teaching style, background, and training in order to create an environment of maximum learning.

Program Format

This program centers on the practical application of the Red Thread® Method of Pilates, rather than the instruction of individual exercises. Hands-on work on the equipment is essential and serves as the primary vehicle for integrated learning. This is an experiential, tactile format.

PPATT is not a certification program. Exercises are not taught; instead, the focus is placed on understanding the relationships between exercises, the method as a whole, and the body present in front of the instructor.

The PPATT program includes four three-day in-person segments, scheduled over a 12-month period. During these segments, students learn to teach the body before them while applying the Red Thread® Method of Pilates and demystifying the how, where, what, when, and why of the work.

If all required hours, quizzes, and homework have been completed at the end of the course, the student will receive a certificate of completion. If the student satisfies the completion requirements and passes the final exam, the student will earn a certificate of graduation.
